The Lord Bute is Joining The Oaks

Heartwood Collection have acquired The Lord Bute Hotel in Highcliffe and it’s set to become part of The Oaks!

The well known hotel and restaurant next door will undergo a significant refurbishment before reopening as an extension of The Oaks, complete with 19 new boutique style bedrooms.

This is the third Heartwood Inns’ site in Dorset, building on the success of The Oaks and adding to a growing portfolio of premium pubs with rooms across the south of England.

We’ll also be closing the current site of The Oaks for a short period ahead of our grand opening, so the whole building gets the same premium refresh from top to bottom.

When the opportunity arose to acquire a hotel and restaurant adjacent to our existing pub, we couldn’t believe our luck. We are delighted to welcome The Lord Bute to Heartwood Inns and intend to invest significantly in both properties.

What Happens to the Lord Bute Hotel Now?

The Lord Bute name will retire once our refurbishment is complete, with the property reopening as The Oaks.

If you remember the hotel for its elegant rooms just a short walk from the beach, you can expect the same warm welcome from us under a new name and with a fresh look.

When does the Lord Bute Hotel reopen?

We’re aiming for Early 2027, though an exact date will be confirmed nearer the time. It’ll reopen as part of The Oaks rather than under the Lord Bute name, so keep an eye on this page for updates as the refurbishment progresses, or follow us on Facebook and Instagram for the latest news.

In the meantime, The Oaks pub and restaurant remains open as usual just next door on Lymington Road.
